The ADVANCE program, supported by the National Science Foundation, aims to increase the participation and advancement of women in academic science and engineering careers.

AvenueE is a pipeline program with four regional California community college districts. It provides a smooth transition from community college to UC Davis for students interested in engineering or computer science. Four community college districts partner with AvenueE, which focuses on students who have the desire to contribute to the elimination of barriers facing women and other members of underrepresented groups or first-generation students.

Campus Dialogue and Deliberation’s mission is to promote sustained engagement among students, faculty and staff of the UC Davis community through dialogue and deliberation and supports respectful dialogue that allows individuals and groups with different points of view to participate vigorously and to work collectively.

CAMPOS supports the discovery of knowledge by promoting women in science, starting with Latina STEM scholars and expanding to all underrepresented groups in STEM through building an inclusive environment that is diversity-driven, mentorship-grounded, and career-success focused.

Developing Deeper Advising Relationships is a four-part training series that is mandatory for all academic advisors and includes specific focus on social justice and bias awareness in advising interactions.

LEADR’s mission is to recruit, retain, and graduate a diverse population of students from the College of Engineering. Current focus is on first-generation and historically-underserved students in engineering and program components include summer bridge, academic advising, tutoring, professional and leadership development, academic success workshops, for-credit seminar courses, CDD workshops, study space in engineering, and a living-learning community.

The UC Davis McNair Scholars Program is a two-year program funded by TRIO and the U.S. Department of Education. It is designed to encourage students from groups often underrepresented in graduate programs to pursue doctoral degrees.

OEOES is committed to the development and success of students during their undergraduate years and beyond.  Using a holistic approach and through partnerships with campus and community resources, OEOES offers services that support student learning, enhance the student experience and foster strong communities where students feel empowered to achieve their goals.

SMASH Academy is a three-year STEM-intensive summer residential college-preparatory program that empowers local underrepresented high school students to deepen their talents and pursue STEM careers.

Administered by OEOES, STEP strives to enhance the academic and social experiences of first generation and low-income students during their first two years of college. STEP aims to facilitate the transition to postsecondary education by maximizing academic and social skills in students through the use of resources needed to achieve personal success.

SDPS provides diversity, cross-cultural competency and multi-cultural recruitment and selection training for campus staff.

UC Davis STEM Transfer Day is an annual one-day program for Northern California community college MESA students interested in transferring to UC Davis with the intention of working toward a degree in a STEM related field.

Implicit bias training for faculty search committee members; UC Davis is moving to incorporate this into staff hiring practices supported by ADVANCE.

The UC Davis First-Gen Initiative creates awareness of our first-generation students, staff and faculty on campus. A sense of connection can ease the anxiety of asking for help, speaking up in class, and even thinking about careers in research and teaching.

The UC Leadership Excellence Through Advanced Degrees (UC LEADS) program provides undergraduate academic support and professional development.
